Blooming Season — Grades 9-10 Opening Ceremony

On Monday, September 3rd, 2018, students and staff of grade 9-10 at the Shanghai High School International Division celebrated the opening ceremony of the 2018-2019 school year. At first, Principal Ma gave all the students a speech named “Embrace the New Semester in Full Swing,”considering a question to start the semester: “Do you have any plans in order to be a better self?” Asked by Principal Ma, students enjoyed an inspirational lecture about competencies, skills, always facing any challenge, and keeping an open mind to grow as a personal and life-long learner. During the ceremony, the audience was treated to a musical performance by the school string orchestra and speeches given by grade 9-10 director Liu and student and parent representatives. The students had benefited from the flourished curriculum and activities provided by high school that they had achieved during the past school year. The Social Activity awards, Academic Achievement awards, and Principal’s List were awarded to students who have worked hard throughout the 2017-2018 school year. Just as the name of this ceremony “Blooming Season” implies: the fruits of the past year were bore, and a better future with more achievements ahead is being looked forward!
