Grades 11-12: The Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony and Orientation for both Juniors and Seniors at SHSID took place on August 31st. Principle Ma began by giving a brief introductory speech to the audience. Director Liu followed with a warm welcome and encouraged each student to make the most out of their remaining time in high school. Ms. Wu Chen, Head of Grade 12, then discussed new semester prospects. Finally, the STEM advisor, Mr. Liao Hui, gave a speech on academic achievement.

Our four student representatives—11(1) James Liu, 11(1) Linda Lam, 12(6) Kevin Bao, 12(8) Teresa Xiao—also came to the stage to share a few of their valuable experiences as well as their hope for the new semester. Specially, Ms. Christine Wu from Wellesley College made a speech and gave the Book Award to Teresa Xiao.
