The High School students of SHSID met up with Shanghai local school students and gathered in the indoor gym at 8:30am in the morning to attend the Varsity Showcase. During the showcase, the students introduced their players, achievements, and told some little stories. Afterwards, students can experience Stallions basic training on darts, tennis, basketball, or volleyball, etc.
During Module 1 of MIX Day, students performed William Shakespeare's ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in the Xianmian Bulding. There were some special methods to help this classic play appeal to the audience. Throughout the play, the usage of modern background music, the usage of typography in the background and the modern context used were really interesting. A male student in a dress acted as Juliet, and brought a great deal of enthusiasm of the play. The audience laughed and enjoyed the play, which overall was a total success.
At 10:10am, the Drama Center displayed the senior’s drama, entitled ‘Please Reply 2018’. This drama was all about time traveling back to 2018, where the students fix their mistakes.
The complex characters, interesting plot, and creative props vividly demonstrated the scenes from high school, and the effort the Drama Center devoted to it. Within this 90 minute play, they illustrated a meaningful lesson of treasuring time and each other.
