High School Biology Week: Birth Control Lecture

On May 30th, Ms. Cui with her students - Kara and MJ held a lecture about birth control in room 127 of the ZhongXing Annex building. To start with, they played an introductory video about birth control. It showed how birth control is a sensitive issue, yet crucial in everyone’s life. There are several methods to birth control, from typical pills and condoms to advanced surgeries and devices. Another video demonstrated the correct procedure of using condoms. The two students provided further information about each method and their distinctive characteristics. They said individuals should select a method that best suits their status.

The advantages of birth control were also emphasized. They include the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancy, and the stabilization of population growth. Birth control can help women to love and protect themselves, and avoid this situation, protecting them from physical and emotional impacts of unwanted pregnancy. In conclusion, the lecturers highlighted the importance to understand birth control and utilize them wisely. The lecture was an insightful experience for all students, rectifying their prejudice towards birth control.
