Pudong Grade 5: Calculation Competition

In order to consolidate our students’ learning after the second monthly test and enhance their learning motivation, the 5th grade math teachers of SHSID’s Pudong Campus decided to hold a calculation competition during class. The basic operations of decimals, fractions, integers, and unit conversion would all be tested in the competition.

After being informed, the students were cheered up and started to get themselves prepared for the upcoming contest. In the morning of May 24th, the calculation competition during Math class. Giving their whole attention to the competition sheet, the 5th graders tried their best to answer the questions. Making full use of the competition time, the students checked their answers carefully after they finished the whole paper. After the competition, the 5th grade teachers of SHSID awarded the students who performed well. Not only did the calculation competition consolidate what students have learned in class, but also it encouraged them to learn independently, and enhanced their learning motivation.
