Puxi Grade 5: Charity Donation to the Sunrise Library Program

This Wednesday, two teachers from the Sunrise Library (a charity organization helping children to read) talked to some students from fifth grade about the studying situation of children living in rural areas. Lots of parents of the children in rural area work in the city for a living. So the children spend most of their time with grandparents. They either watch television, or play games on electronics, and that’s all.

The Sunrise’s plan is known as ‘IREAD’, where the money donated during the Charity Fair is used to buy high quality books and build libraries for those children. The mission of this plan is to help rural children enjoy books and get more education and joy from their free time.

At the Charity Fair we raised 50,000 RMB for IREAD. This money will be used for two schools in Henan province. We all hope the children in Henan will enjoy their books, and find that the library is a perfect place to learn more about the world.

We are very happy to help these rural children. We will do as much as we can in the next charity fair to raise more money to help people in need.
