Grades 9-10: Knowledge Knockout
Grades 9-10: Knowledge Knockout
The 9th & 10th grade Knowledge Knockout is a comprehensive activity that pushes the students’ knowledge beyond just their classes and motivates students to gain knowledge by challenging each other in exciting competitions. The participants compete against each other to answer questions from a wide range of topics drawn from academics, popular culture, and more.
The participants can choose questions from six different categories and the participant who has accumulated the most points at the end is crowned the champion. While the participants are trying to answer as many questions correctly as they can, the audience is also engaged in trying to answer correctly through a WeChat group in order to walk away from the event with a prize of their own.
The 2017 9th and 10th grade Knowledge Knockout event, held at two different places at the same time, was an event that was not to be missed! However, there was an excited energy in the students and teachers which helped lift the second year of the event to new heights.
This year the students in the audience were more involved than ever as they got to play along through WeChat and give direct answers (if there were no correct answers from the contestants) while catching stuffed animal prizes for their answers.
As for the students who were on stage, all of them had an enjoyable experience. The categories were much more diverse this year featuring questions about Disney, food, and pop culture. Every participant received a prize for their participation. The student and teacher judges were having fun and engaged in the activity while the host kept the audience’s energy high. Overall, everyone left happy and feeling as though they were just part of something special.
Knowledge Knockout is a competition in which students can gain knowledge in a fun and motivating way. It rewards both hard work and a respect for one’s opponents, and also gives the students a chance to practice competing academically.
