Pudong Grade 1: Dragon Boat Festival

This year, Grade 1 has launched various activities to welcome the coming of Dragon Boat Festival. Students first learnt the legendary story behind this festival through a video: what led the patriotic poet Qu Yuan to commit suicide and how people remembered him. Later, in order to bring the students a closer connection with Chinese customs, the students learned how to draw an animated zongzi and decorate it as they wished. While the students immersed themselves into the world of art, a surprising dumpling tasting session was waiting. Students could choose to take their zongzi home or enjoy it at school. Thanks to today, our Grade 1 students learned the story and the moral message of Dragon Boat Festival, and most importantly of all– they had fun!
