Pudong Campus: Parent Talk Day

Parent Talk day is one of the most exciting events in SHSID. On the afternoon of May 23rd, parent-speakers signed up for the event temporarily dropped their heavy work and arrived at SHSID’s Pudong campus.

The theme of the Parent Talk Day was ‘career’. The parents stepped into different classrooms and provided students with detailed information and sincere suggestions related to their own career. Besides simply explaining their own jobs, the parents also gave some specific examples of challenges they had overcomes, which helped the students to understand better. The parents gave constructive suggestions and support to the students who are really interested in a certain field.

Artificial Intelligence, architecture, finance, design, IT, law, and even tea…

Parents from various domains answered the children’s questions patiently and gave them directions toward reaching their prospective career. Vivid and absorbing activities such as controlling robots using program instruction and tea tasting were brought into classrooms by these versatile parents. By participating in these kinds of activities, not only did the students gain abundant knowledge, but also they learned how to apply some of the things they had learned in the real world.
