8th Grade Service Learning Reflection Meeting

On May 17th, the 7th and 8th graders gathered in the Xianmian Building auditorium to reflect upon the year in terms of service learning, as well as introducing what service learning is all about to the incoming 8th graders. In the reflection, many students, often leaders of their own service learning groups, came to speak about their ambitions, successes, mistakes, and growth over time as a result of service to the community.

The speakers discussed what their service learning groups did over the course of the school year, and how they could be improved in the future. Through this, everyone saw the great strides members our school community has taken in giving back to the broader community, be it by donating money, teaching younger children, or helping the environment. They helped give to the poor, comforted the sick, and provided food to those without.

Additionally, multiple representatives from charities came to the school to accept donations, along with numerous parents who came to accept certificates of excellence. On top of reflecting upon the year's work, the reflection also introduced service learning to the current 7th graders, passing the torch to future students.
