Grade 7: S Level Chinese Speech Competition

During last Wednesday’s Chinese class, all the students of S-level went to the Primary School auditorium to listen to the winners from the first round of the Chinese S Speech Competition talk about social phenomena occurring in our society. Different topics were approached, such as urban indifference, cyber-bullying, modern scamming, and more.

Throughout the speech, the students listened to the speakers respectfully and clapped enthusiastically when welcoming a new speaker, or when one finished their speech. Although most competitors had prepared for their speeches carefully and considerately, many admitted that they were still very nervous before the speech, and had practiced over and over again until they meticulously committed everything to memory.

Nonetheless, all of the competitors succeeded in expressing their thoughts clearly and thoughtfully, producing excellent results. The audience greatly enjoyed the presentations, seeing from how enthusiastically they applauded to show their full support and satisfaction. In third place came Rachel Guo from 7(7) and Mia Zhu from 7(3). In second place, Jacqueline Chen and Jason Zhang. Finally, Seika from 7(2) snagged first place. Despite the rest of the speakers not being included in the top three, they all did extremely well too. Congratulations to all the participants and winners!
