Pudong Grade 5: I Am a Journalist

The monthly week is coming again. On Week 13, and instead of having a second monthly exam for English classes at SHSID, the teachers decided to assign Project Based Assessments (PBA). PBAs are designed to utilize elements that have been taught earlier in the semester while alleviating the stress of another exam. PBAs are spread out over the course of the past weeks with weekly checkpoints for the students. In their 5th grade English classes this semester, the students are creating online newsletters based on a global issue of their choosing. This past week, the teachers brought their classes to the computer lab to walk them through the online resource for the PBA– a website called Canva. This should be a fun and enjoyable project that both the teachers and students are excited about.
