Grade 9 Biology Class: Students Classify Leaves on Campus

This week, students in Grade 9 have classified leaves on campus using the Dichotomous Key method they learnt in Biology class.

Dichotomous Key is an identification key where the sequence and structure of identification steps is fixed by the author of the key. The students collected samples or photos of leaves near the lawn and the Zhongxing Lake. They separated their leaves according to size, color, vein shape, etc.

The students’ curiosity towards nature helps nurture their passion for Biology. After researching the campus ecosystem, they have deepened their knowledge of classification.
