Pudong Grade 2: I speak for the treasure!

The Week 10 was Chinese Culture Week in Pudong campus. Every single grade had prepared all sorts of activities to meet this special annual theme. The highlight of the entire year of Second Grade- perhaps- was the activity called ‘I Speak for the Treasure’.

On Monday, the kids were all dressed in traditional costumes from different Chinese dynasties. This was to aid them in their special mission of the day, which was to represent various treasures from across Chinese history, and give a presentation on them. Twenty-five kids represented twenty-five different treasures from China.

Previously, the students had been exposed to the histories and stories of these artefacts, including the Lake Jia bone flute, which is from more than eight thousand years ago, a tiger-shaped tally issued to generals as imperial authorization for troop movement in ancient China, and the golden foil of the phoenix.

Every child immersed themselves in the stories of those fantastic legendary treasures, which have witnessed thousands years of history.
