Grade 5、6:Spelling Bee
Grade 5、6:Spelling Bee
5th and 6th grade H/H+ Spelling Bee drew its curtain successfully. The students were nervous, but shook off their worries with all 13 contestants making it to the 3rd round!
Things started to get interesting when the word ‘dissemble’ came about. Four students were knocked out by this word, and additional trouble came from ‘expunge’. After a few more rounds of tight competition, the remaining five students consisted of Andrew 6(6), Erika 6(5), Daniel 6(2), Alex 6(2), and Tony 6(1).
The five contestants went a few rounds before Daniel was eliminated by the word ‘insinuate’. The remaining four were looking around to see who would place first, second, third, and which student would go home empty handed. The word to spell was ‘exorcism’, which Andrew, Erika, and Alex all failed to do. With the win in sight, Tony correctly spelled ‘exorcism’ to win the spelling bee! Congratulations to all the contestants for all competing and making the final round!
