Pudong Grade 2: Chinese Culture Week
Pudong Grade 2: Chinese Culture Week
Week 10 was Chinese Culture week, so Grade 2 from Pudong campus arranged a variety of activities about Chinese Culture. On Monday, the students were exposed to the story of the amazing Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, which date back to the Tang Dynasty. On Tuesday, the students dressed in traditional costumes for a ‘special mission’, which was to watch I Speak for Treasure, a TV show about several Chinese national treasures, which date back from thousands of years ago. The kids also made a wonderful tour return to the Moon Lake Sculpture Park again on Wednesday. Not especially Chinese, but very fun! On Thursday, the students witnessed a splendid Chinese music singing competition which was given by students from Grades 3 to 5. On Friday, the teachers and students all wore traditional Chinese costumes on campus, which the kids really enjoyed.
At the end of the week, the kids even experienced some VR technology, which let them ‘walk’ into the Mogao Grottoes without leaving their classroom. Amazing! The six days of Chinese Culture Week not only brought happiness to the kids, but also deepened their interest in Chinese culture!
