Grade 7: Swimming Competition

The swimming competition held on April 28th was a fierce competition between the 7th and 8th graders. The order of events was breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, then finally relay. The results were announced on May 3rd.

In the girl’s swim competition, Kyla Frey won the first place in both 50m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke. Elaine Zhang and Athena Ke finished just behind her.

In the boy’s swim competition, new school records were set by Zilin Li and Zisen Li. Right below came Chenxi Li and Enqi Lin.

7th grade did not claim any prizes in the relays. The highest relay position they attained was 4th place, claimed by 7(3). 6th and 7th place were claimed by 7(4) and 7(11) respectively.

According to a fellow contestant, the swimming competition was like a cold war; no one was talking or making any sounds, but the aura was cold and intense. The silence made it so. It was a competition between swiftness, speed, and power, and no one could miss a single ounce of concentration.

At the end, everyone was exhausted but happy. Since this isn’t a very big competition, everyone was very loose about whether they were going to win or not (with a few exceptions). Overall, the swimming competition was a success.
