Pudong Grade 5: Chinese Singing Contest

Music is one of the most important parts of our daily lives, and our students enjoy all genres of music from classic music to pop songs. However, among these songs, Chinese songs are the ones we could be more familiar with. On the afternoon of April 26th, during our Chinese Culture Week, students from Pudong G3 to G5 took part in a wonderful Chinese singing contest, called ‘Voice of the School’.

After the challenging 1st round in each homeroom, 12 groups of participants got into this final round. The 6 judges- our foreign teachers- wore blindfolds and judged the performance by the singing quality only. In order to attract the judges and audience, our participants tried their best with both their beautiful voice and other musical skills, such as playing piano and flute. And the whole auditorium went crazy because of these brilliant performances.

Thanks to this contest, our students enjoyed not only music, but also the beauty of the Chinese language and culture. Let’s look forward to the Voice of the School next year!
