Pudong Campus: Voices of Chinese Culture Week

Communication and output are of vital importance when learning about different cultures, and so are beautiful voices and catchy melodies. In order to expand our students’ knowledge of traditional Chinese culture and increase their enthusiasm for learning Chinese, a heated singing contest- Voice of Campus- was held by the SHSID Pudong campus. This year, all the third, fourth, and fifth grade students can sign up for this special singing competition. During this grand event, the versatile students of SHSID Pudong showed their talent and passion on stage.

From the preliminary contest to the final, the students’ performance really impressed us a lot. On stage, they were super stars; backstage, they were hard-working craftsmen. Before the final, we saw students continuously modifying and improving their performances. We witnessed them rehearse again and again during class break and lunch recess. Not only did we hear students’ beautiful voices and songs, but also we saw their earnest attitude and patience.

The final round of the Chinese singing contest was held on April 26th in the school’s auditorium. Our little singing stars in Chinese costumes stepped on the stage one by one, and gave amazing performances. Judges of the competition took off their eye masks to vote for the different performers. The auditorium was filled with delight and applause.
