Grade 8 H level Biology Investigation

Reading a textbook is easy, however, to conduct one’s own scientific investigation and experiment requires not only knowledge but also skills and rigor. All the students in the Grade 8 H Level Biology class were requested to conduct a scientific experiment on their own. The scientific paper took the longest time as this was the first paper that most of the students had ever written, and it required a lot of background research and scientific method. The best papers were chosen and exhibited recently. The whole investigation activity allowed students to experience the importance of turning the results of their experiments into paragraphs that can be understood by everyone. This investigation taught the students how to manage their time, as the experiment could fail and if that happened they would need time to re-conduct it. The investigation also gave the 8th Graders a taste of the rigorousness of the scientific world.
