Puxi Grade 3: National Treasure Archive

During Chinese class on April 25th, the Puxi Grade 3 students enjoyed watching a TV program called National Treasure Archive. From the TV program, they learned about the origin of several Chinese treasures.

A beautiful painting called A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains was made by the artist Xi Meng. He used malachite as a pigment, and within the mountains he painted people can seem to see thousands of miles of landscape. The rich levels and full colors of the picture have impressed many people across the years.

During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, a china bottle with many kinds of glazes and colors was made in Jingdezhen. It not only reflected the skilled craft of porcelain making, but also reflected the prosperity and peace of the Qing Dynasty.

National Treasure Archive introduces traditional Chinese culture by discussing the artistic value of these national treasures. In this way we hope broaden the students’ minds and help them to feel proud of living in China.
