SHSID Students Achieved Great Success in USAD Finals

From April 18th to April 23rd, 8 SHSID students and Ms He Yiwei went to Frisco, Texas for the USAD Finals, and enjoyed great success in this competition.

USAD stands for United States Academic Decathlon, which is one of the supreme academic competition platforms in the US. Its vision is to provide all students the opportunity to excel academically through team competition. Students who take part in this competition need to learn and compete in 10 different subjects, including Math, Economics, Science, Social Science, Art, Music, Literature, Essay, Speeches and Interviewing.

This is the third time that SHSID students have participated in this competition, and they made great breakthroughs this time. The team won 23 medals in total, including 7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 11 bronze medals. The team’s overall score ranked the 2nd place in Division II and 1st place among all the international teams. It is the first time that Chinese teams ranked top 5 in any USAD Final.

Congratulations to these students! For them, taking part in USAD competition is not only an unforgettable experience, but also a part of a lifetime journey harvesting growth and improvements.
