High School English Department Activity

At 8:30am on Friday the 20th of April, the English teachers of SHSID’s High School gathered in Room 109 of the Xianmian Building for a Professional Development meeting. The sunshine outside had already lent a little cheer to the day, and so the meeting got off to a brisk start. Mr. Mark Seeley and Ms. Zhang Nan opened the meeting by discussing the workings of the upcoming Intercultural Extravaganza assignment. Next, teachers went through online platforms that the school provided.

Next it was time to discuss the upcoming unit: the Genre Study. The Genre Study is a particularly exciting module for the High School English teachers, because teachers can select some exciting fields for their students to dig into, such as Mystery, Humour, and Graphic Novels. Teachers were divided into groups to have a heated discussion on the next unit training and they all enjoy hands-on discussions.
