Pudong Grade 1: Mini Math Market

In order to enhance their understanding of American coins and better help them to apply that knowledge into practical use, the Grade 1 students of SHSID Pudong campus opened a Mini Math Market on April 16th. At the market, students were invited to bring items to sell and label them with a reasonable price (less than $1). In order to buy the items on the market, students had to model their own money by cutting and pasting the teaching tools from the math lesson. The students were so excited to have their market before the mid-term. They all yelled to sell their foods, stationaries, toys, stickers and so on, while the other half of them were busy shuffling between two classes to buy their favorites. After the market closed, the students stayed to count their earnings. Not a bad way to practice American currency, right?
