Puxi Grades 5-6: Scratch Club Students Make Small Games

Scratch is a programming tool designed and developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for kids to study how to program. Its programming platform uses a zero-based interface which works by simply dragging block-shaped modules. The Scratch community of Grade 5 & 6 is very popular.

22 students from Grade 5 and 6 participated in the Scratch Club this semester. In the Scratch Club, students can learn how to program graphically and they can create their own favorite creative games. Here, students not only learn the basics of programming but also can fully use their imagination and creativity. The students design games such as Star Wars, Pac-Man, Castle Wars, and Tank Turmoil. Not only could the students share and exchange their completed games with their friends, but also post them on the official Scratch website using special software, allowing Scratch fans all over the world to see their work.
