Pudong Grade 1: The Drama Lesson

On April 3rd, the Grade 1 students of SHSID’s Pudong Campus were honored to have a teacher from the Shanghai Theater College, who is also one of the parents in the class 1-1, to deliver a lesson on Drama, entitled ‘How to Express and Receive Your Emotion’.

There were several activities throughout the lesson to immerse the students into the world of acting. At the beginning, students were invited to express their emotion behind a cover of their face, which required students to express strong emotion through words. Then, in order to enhance the students’ memory and logical thinking, they were asked to express their classmates’ clothing without looking at them. At last, each student learnt how to mimic animals by acting out their most distinguishing feature. From this lesson, grade one students learnt to empathize with each other and practiced their self-expression abilities.
