Grades 11:The Second Global Citizen Day

On the morning of April 3rd, the activities of the second Global Citizen Day started. After breakfast, there was a fire drill. As smoke enveloped the yard, the students hurriedly covered their noses and mouths with wet towels and escaped to the playground in an orderly manner.

After the smoke dispersed, the students headed to into the fields to do farm work, one of the most memorable activities of the day. The students plowed the soil with great effort, and finally learned how to appreciate the hard work that comes along with the food that we consume everyday. Then, the students attended a lesson on first aid, learning basic skills to wrap shoulder and head wounds. After lunch, all the students gathered for a group photo, ending the day's activities.

The two Global Citizen Days have surely provided an opportunity for SHSID's students to acquire skills that could be beneficial to them in the future. Farming is a worldwide industry, and understanding it makes you a better Global Citizen.
