Puxi Grade 5: YD: Physical Health (Girls)
Puxi Grade 5: YD: Physical Health (Girls)
Last Thursday, SHSID’s G5 students had their Youth Development class. This time, it was about physical health. For the 6th period, the students of fifth grade underwent a variety of exercise activities outside. They were divided into two groups: a Girls Group and a Boys Group. Each group was given different exercises to perform.
There were several stations, and in each station, there was a special activity. For instance, the girls of 5(2) and 5(4) first danced Zumba. They followed their teacher and danced to the song “Shake It Off”. Everybody was super happy! Next, they did yoga and stretched themselves. Then, they played with hula hoops. Everyone was wiggling around. After that, they had a go at a food team relay to help them define each food among the 5 kinds: grains, veggies, dairy, protein, and fruits.
For the fifth activity, the students did a mats team relay. This tested their teamwork abilities. Each homeroom was divided into two groups on two sides. They needed to use two mats to help them get on the other side, without having their feet or hands touch the ground. At The last station, they did more yoga to help them relax.
These activities were very good fun. The students not only had fun while doing them, but also got some exercise. Now the students will know that exercise is actually very fun!
