6th Grade:Jump Rope Competition

On March 22nd, Grades 5-6 hosted a jump rope competition on the basketball field during CAS class.

The jump rope competition lifted everyone’s spirits. As the classes gathered at the basketball court, the students jumped around, too excited to stay still. When the competition started, the students of each class quickly assembled into straight lines. As the judges started the timer, swing and swing, one by one, they hopped over the rope swiftly. The line was like a dragon, going up and down. Three minutes later, the timer rang, the students felt exhausted yet eager for the next round. The classes who failed to get into the second round not only stayed to watch other classes, but also encouraged and cheered for them. They learned that sportsmanship really changed their perspective of the competition. After four rounds of competition, the champions were finally announced, 6(7) and 5(7). All of us were happy as we watched the two classes sprint around the basketball field cheering.

This jump rope competition was an exciting experience for all of us, and no matter who won, the fifth and sixth graders really put in a lot of effort. Every other noon, students eagerly went to practice, they learned how to be a team, and what it takes to be one. They encouraged each other, they worked together, and most importantly they never gave up. Everyone tried their best. The competition really was the most beautiful scene during spring in our school yards.
