Pudong Grade 1: Our Dear Week

In order to enhance our students’ reading ability as well as to stimulate students into a more frequent reading habit, SHSID’s Pudong campus has launched the DEAR Week, during which students have to Drop Everything and Read until the bell sounds. On March 26th, all the first graders of SHSID’s Pudong campus experienced the first Dear period of the week. The DEAR bell didn’t rung until the 4th period. When the students finally heard the bell, the whole class has became filled with excitement as the students got their books out. After a few seconds, the students all calmed down and immersed themselves into a world of imagination— even their teachers were reading! The classroom was transformed into a temporary library. What a lovely DEAR Week.
