Puxi Grade 4: Emotional Wellbeing

During P&B class on March 27th, the fourth graders learned how to ensure their own emotional wellbeing.

In class, the teachers first explained what emotional wellbeing is, why it is important, and the following 5 signs of emotional wellness:

· You treat others well

· You like who you are

· You are flexible

· You appreciate loved ones

· You are aware of your emotions

Also, the students took part in two class activities. The first one was group discussion. The topics dealt with questions such who should be involved if there is a problem, are there consequences for certain actions, how do you think your actions affect others, and so on.

In the second activity, the students were given some problem solving and social skills task cards on which there were some issues for them to address, such as should you talk to people you do not know while you are waiting in line and what should you do if you bump into someone accidentally in a store.

The students learned a lot in this class. It helped build awareness of social skills in different situations that occur in their community, and helped them to better recognize and manage their own emotions.
