Pudong Campus Grade 2：Dr.Seuss’ Week

Do you know who is Dr. Seuss?

No, you don’t?

If you don’t know that much about this man, one of the most famous writers of children’s books ever, then please come and have a look of how we celebrated his birthday!

We call the 4th week of Pudong campus Dr. Seuss Week, because we use the whole week to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. From March 12th to 16th, we hosted a week of fun activities. Every single day we had a different theme for that day’s activity. Can’t wait to see it, right?

Monday was ‘Crazy Hat Day’, in which the kids tried their best to wear all kinds of weird hats to school. Some of them got their hats from stores, but some of them even made their own hats with their hands. All the hats were so crazy and funny!

Tuesday was ‘Favorite Character Day’. The kids needed to wear a costume that made them look like their favorite fictional character. Therefore you could find Goku from the Dragon Ball comic book series, Miguel from the movie Coco, Geronimo Stilton from the children’s book series, and so on.

Wednesday was ‘Pajamas Day’. The kids don’t even need to change their clothes. Instead, they could come to school in their pajamas! They said it’s so comfy to wear pajamas in class. But of course, you can only experience this in Dr. Seuss Week.

Thursday was ‘Wacky Socks Day’. You could definitely see all kinds of weird socks on display. In fact, our campus looked like a ‘Socks Museum’ on Thursday!

Friday was the last day of Dr. Seuss Week, but also the day that all the kids had been looking forward to the most. It was the ‘Word Parade’, where everyone needed to choose a word that we normally don’t use in daily life, and then dress up like that word. During recess time the kids held a vocabulary hunt, and their teachers joined in as well.

During the whole of Dr. Seuss week, the kids enjoyed lots of fun thanks to these creative activities, and celebrated the birthday of this great writer, Dr. Seuss!
