Grades 9-10：A Visit to Google

On March 16th, ninth and tenth graders from SHSID visited the Google office located in the Shanghai World Financial Center. The students arrived at the meeting room after taking the elevator. First, some employees introduced Google, talking about its abundant facilities and its suitable environment for innovation. After that, experts from different fields answered several questions asked by the students, and informed them about what it means to be “googley”, the focus of Google in Shanghai, Google’s perspective toward artificial intelligence, and some predictions of future development. The goal of the company is to innovate and follow the track of the society. Finally, students were led to visit the company, including charging stations, cafeterias, and a fitness room. The styles of the working places varied. At the end, students were fully attracted to the charm of Google.
