Puxi Grade 3: Let’s write poems in spring!

Spring brings everyone hope and sunshine. Creatures and plants alike grow up vigorously and delightfully in this lovely season. So do people’s inspirations. There are countless poems from all over the world that celebrate Spring. Puxi’s Native Level Chinese students have recently learnt about one poem called The News of Spring. This concise, bright, and modern poem describes scenery in Spring so vividly that it brought the students into the beautiful scene.

After this class, students were asked to create a little poem writing about Spring from their own perspective. Some of them mentioned twittering swallows, some wrote about lengthening willow twigs, some added sparkling sweet strawberries…

During the Chinese class of March 9th, the teachers brought the students out onto the grass and shared their own poems together. Smelling the fragrant scent of the grass, listening to the simple but cute poems, the students felt a deeper appreciation for spring and also about the charms of the Chinese language.
