Pudong Grade 1: The Fire Drill

Fire safety is always the top priority at SHSID. During the first month of the semester, we set Safety Education as one of our highlights. Topics covered included emergency telephone numbers, fire safety, and campus safety. In this week, we have renewed our Evacuation Map as well as reinforcing fire safety regulations. This week, students from Grade One of SHSID’s Pudong campus experienced such a realistic fire drill that the students now fully understand how to evacuate safely from the school in the event of a real fire. When talking about how to escape from fire in daily classes, it is always easy for students to talk a lot and become excited. However, we also want the students to be calm and follow directions when an emergency actually occurs. During this recent fire drill, all the first graders behaved quite well, lining up quickly and gathering in the designated places with no student missing. As teachers, we are quite glad to see our students properly understanding safety awareness.
