Grade 12: Opening Ceremony

On Feb 23rd, the opening ceremony of SHSID’s Senior High School was held at the big auditorium. At the beginning, two videos that recorded major events from last semester were shown to all the students. Everyone went through their own ‘happiness moments’ from last semester thanks to the videos. Following that, Director Liu Qin introduced the topic ‘What is Happiness?’. Happiness has different meanings to different students, but no matter what the meaning of happiness is, it must require struggle. So Director Liu hopes everyone will work harder, participate in more activities, maintain clear targets, and struggle to realize happiness. And then, the Grade 12 head teacher, Ms Gu Ying, proposed new expectations to the 12th Graders. For the 12th Graders, their activities would be their last ones in High School, so Ms. Gu hoped everyone will cherished the time with their classmates and enjoy their last semester in High School. Two student representatives from Grade 12 shared their experiences of SHSID and said graduation would not be the end– they would continue to pursue better lives in college. At the end of the opening ceremony, various awards were given to top students. We hope all the students can do even better in the new semester!
