'I say Swish, you say Ayyy!'

'Swish!'

'AY!'

The cameras turn.

The curtain lifts.

The lights shine down on the dancers’ glittering makeup,

and waving foam sticks light up in different colors.

Time of the year!

People show their unique talents and performing skills

On the brightly lit stage.

Remembered the blinding lights and defeating music,

becoming lost in it all,

but loving every second of it.

Remembered the way time slowed down,

so that every second you loved felt like a year, a day, a minute.

Remembered the beads of sweat on the dancers’ hands;

And above all, the legends:

Those performances that dazzle, that amaze, that are repeated over and over

Afterwards in memes and anecdotes,

Those that are remembered—

'I say Swish, You say Ayyy!'
