Grades 9-10: Interdisciplinary Project Introduction
Grades 9-10: Interdisciplinary Project Introduction
During lunchtime on January 10th, Mr Slonim held a lecture explaining the interdisciplinary project to the 9th and 10th graders. The interdisciplinary project requires students to use knowledge from all subjects. In groups of five, the students are going to plan a presentation over eight weeks with an assigned mentor. A panel of teachers will judge the final presentations. Students who try hard can receive certificates of completion, good achievement, or even superior achievement. Even though it is going to be a very hard project, many students showed interest by coming to the lecture and quickly signing up. Mr Slonim promised that students will receive a recommendation letter in return, which can used to apply for summer institutions. Working on this project would also strengthen the students’ teamwork & presentation skills, and also their academic knowledge. The students are not afraid of the challenge in front of them at all; instead, they actively signed up in large numbers, which was totally beyond the teachers’ expectations. The project is going to start next semester. We hope students will enjoy this newly designed task while expanding their horizons!
