Grade 9: MFP New Year Chamber Music Concert

On the afternoon of December the 29th, members of the MFP club presented a chamber music concert for the hospitalized children in the Hematologic Oncology Building of the Shanghai Children's Medical Center.

They performed a range of both relaxing and lively pieces. These included violin solos Santa Rukia, Mayila, Spring Celebration, cello solo pieces Golden Wedding, trombone solo piece Amazing Grace, clarinet solo piece Polka, and string quartet pieces Waves of The Danube &

Four Little Swans. Our young performers created a wonderful music atmosphere for the children and parents of the ward/

SHSID’s young musicians also sung for their audience. Two girls sang She Said and That is Christmas to Me, and then a trio of female acappella voices sang the famous Chinese song In the Field of Hope. When the music stopped everyone applauded, welcoming the coming new year together.

After the concert, our students visited the hospitalized children with gifts they carefully prepared, to help bring them some Christmas cheer.

The MFP Club is all about making the world a better place, and at New Year that’s what they did.
