Puxi Grade 5: Rope-jumping Competition

“One, two, three...thirty-five, thirty-six,...one hundred, one hundred and one...”

The counting started at lunch time. The 5th grade students held a rope-jumping competition!

The counting came from the volunteers who were helping to count how much each person had jumped. The contestants used all their strength to get a good score on their “exam”. It’s not as easy as you think! The other students standing around cheered the tired contestants on.

The competition was divided into two rounds. The students who jumped the most was allowed to join the finals. Twelve contestants qualified for the finals, though most of them gave their best performances in the first round.

The winners were as follows:

1st prize: Yuti from 5(3)

2nd prize: Jerry from 5(6), and Olivia from 5(2)

3rd prize: Coco from 5(1), and Fiona from 5(5)

More than 50 students took part in this exciting competition. Over the part two weeks, we often saw students practicing jumping in their break time, and many still kept on jumping after the competition itself.

The rope-jumping competition made us practice more and brought us many joys. It added another colorful memory to our happy school lives!
