Puxi G5: Career Day Visit - Intco Recycling Resources Company

Last Thursday, students of 5(2) visited the Intco Recycling Resources Company. All the students were very excited that day.

When we arrived at the company, the workers gave us a tour and explained how they used recycled material to make frames, floors, walls etc. These products are basically made by sticking a special sticker to recycled materials to them different looks. It is magical! All the students enjoyed feeling the material and listening to the fascinating stories told by the workers.

Later, they took our class to a room and introduced their boss with a video of how he brought his recycling company into existence. Just by watching the video, I think we all learned to never give up hope, and that teamwork is the best way to start a whole new world for yourself.

After the video, a worker introduced an old style of Chinese traditional art to us. It is what people here did before scissors were invented. You would trace a shape on a piece of paper, and instead of cutting it out, you nip it with your fingers, trying to go along the line! It is supposed to test the tactfulness and skill of your hands. Then we pulled out pictures into the frames and took them home, so every student had their own hand-made picture. A lot of students found themselves to be quite talented!

What a memorable day! Everyone had such a good time. I think this was a great experience for all the students. As we are learning about recycle material, this visit helped us have a better lesson on how to conserve the world.
