Grades 11-12： Kill Bier

To celebrate Christmas, ‘Kill Bier’, a musical comedy performed by the SIDACT musical club members, was put on the stage of Black Box Theater in the Music and Drama Center on December 21st, 2017.

‘Kill Bier’ is an original musical written by Wei Xiong, with music and lyrics composed by Mr. Sang, and acting advised by Ms. Han from the Shanghai Drama Center. ‘Kill Bier’ honors the greatest English playwright, William Shakespeare, containing several characters whose names are derived from his dramas. It tells a story about a young and bold peasant named Bier who gets involved in aristocrats’ conflicts and struggles and eventually pursues his own path. Thanks to its comical acting, contemplative plot, and soul-stirring and lyrical songs, ‘Kill Bier’ grabbed the audience’ attention. From start to finish, ‘Kill Bier’ had the audience laughing and smiling.

On December 10th, ‘Kill Bier’ was a special performance for the One Table Two Chair Drama Festival, where it went down a storm with audience members from both within and beyond the school. During the performance on the 21st, the audience sat far closer to the stage, allowing for a more intimate connection with the actors.

‘Kill Bier’ will be performed again on January 4th from 16:05 to 17:20, and on January 5th from 14:50 to 16:10. The performances will be held in SHSID’s Black Box Theater, and there will be some new surprises. Please come and support our amazing actors!
