Grades 9-10: 2017 Expo
Grades 9-10: 2017 Expo
Are you interested in fresh Mexican cuisine? Perhaps you prefer classic French cooking, spicy Korean food, or Italian dishes. Are you fond of Indian music and dance? Perhaps you are a super fan of the Brazilian soccer team or the NBA basketball league. Whatever the case may be, the Grade 9-10 2017 Expo had something for everyone. Take a look at each of the classes’ design and preparation for this event: in the Indian room, music set the tone as well as the style of the food. There were lassis to drink and dances to enjoy. In the Brazil room, soccer was the main subject that rocked the expo, as well as the national dish of Brazil- feijoada- which is a hearty meat stew made from pork and black beans. In the Japan room, students were dressed up in kimonos and performing traditional Japanese dances. The expo included not just games, activities, food and shows, but also challenges such as math competitions. The students from Swiss room designed math questions related to clocks and organized a competition for students who love math.
It is a great big world, and it’s going to a brand new year in 2018. Students presented 21 different countries’ food, culture, sports, industry and so on to express their love for the world and life, and the celebration for the coming year. With an international perspective, the students of SHSID are going to do well both academically and personally.
