Grade 8: “Smile Club” Activity

On a sunny morning on December 18th, Smile Charity went on a field trip to Yu Miao Primary School, taking with them hand-knitted scarfs as New Year and Christmas gifts to the children there. These scarfs were all hand kitted by members of Smile Charity. The “field trip” started with a campus tour during which we were given an introduction of the school. Then we learned that Yu Miao Primary School is specially for children of migrant workers. Although their learning environment is not as good as ours, that doesn’t stop them from being optimistic, well-mannered and polite. Later during the trip, we handed our scarfs to the children. Although our presents were only scarfs and a few pieces of stationary, they received them with happiness. We hope that it will make the children’s day and put smiles on their faces.

This event was an important experience for us. After spending a lot of time and effort preparing the gifts, we are happy that we brought smiles to others!
