Puxi Grade 5: Heart to Heart Charity Lecture

On December 14th, we had a charity lecture. Ms. Karen from the charity Heart to Heart introduced the organization and their work. Heart to Heart was founded in 2003, aiming to help poor kids get surgery to treat heart disease. Heart to Heart have helped more than 1,000 kids to have the surgery with the donation, which has not only saved lives, but also transformed whole families. Heart to Heart has also worked on other projects, like Libraries in the Countryside, the Food Card Project, and the Lovely Bear Project.

Ms. Karen said they also accept the goods donations, like children’s toothbrushes, coloring books, winter clothes for adults & children etc. These goods will be delivered to the villages, orphanages, etc. which need them.

At the lecture the students listened closely and asked questions to get more detailed information about Heart to Heart, and Ms. Karen answered the questions patiently.

This time we donated ten thousand yuan, which is one third of the surgery cost. We are very happy to donate this money, because we did something to help to save a life.
