Pudong Campus: Little Master

On Thursday, December 15th, the fifth graders from SHSID’s Pudong Campus had an exciting field trip, going out for cookie baking! In the morning, the students were thrilled to learn that the theme for this year’s field trip would be DIY (Do It Yourself). The fifth grade students have already begun to understand what it means to be responsible for their own lives, from trivial matters to big decisions. Though it might be too challenging for students at this age to prepare a full course meal, baking tiny cookies would be not only fun but also within their range of ability. In the afternoon, the students from both classes took turns to take the baking lesson, learning attentively from mixing all the materials together, stirring the mixed doughs, modeling the pattern as well as baking the half-finished cookies. While the students enjoyed the fun and happiness from their life accomplishment, they also learned how to take charge of their lives.
