Grade 8: Dodgeball Competition
Grade 8: Dodgeball Competition
On the afternoon of December 7th, during two fast-paced, exciting and intense CAS periods, the 8th grade hosted a dodgeball competition, pitting class against class, student against student and eventually, even student against teacher.
The competition put 11 classes in a competition against one another and in all, nine rounds of dodgeball were played by the classes with three different classes across three rounds automatically advancing to the next round. Among the most intense matchups were 8(11) against 8(8), 8(3) against 8(1) and in the finals, 8(3) against 8(4). Students spent most of their afternoon watching or participating in the rounds.
At 3:30, with great applause from the audience, a squad of elite students from all classes chosen by their peers squared up to face a group of their teachers. More than 200 students crowded around the small court in anticipation of watching their favorite teachers and fellow students fight it out using dodgeballs and sheer athletic ability. This match was extremely intense and in the end, the teachers won and the opposing students’ report cards were spared.
At the end of the day, 8(3) won the competition with 8(4) coming in second and 8(11) in third. Congratulations to all thatparticipated!
