Grades 11-12: Excellent Club Presentation

From December 5th to 8th, 11th and 12th grade students made speeches and presentations in front of the judges of the ‘Excellent Club’ award. Mr Ma hosted the selection process, while Ms Liu, Dr Wu, Principal Ma, and members of the ASB allotted points according to their performances.

21 clubs attended the selection process, including the Psychology Club, SHSID Times, the Debate Club, the Academic Competitions Club, and many others. Each club had a short time period of 5 minutes, with the first three involving a report and the other

two a Q & A session by the judges. Though only starting on Tuesday, the various clubs underwent ample and vehement competition.

ECO CAP was the first club to introduce itself. Whenever their cap collection accumulated to a certain amount, they were able to assist children in need in rural areas. However, due to a range of club members being restricted in 12th grade, their collected caps came mainly from areas where 12th graders gathered, and the group wished to advocate for a wider membership. Ultimately, their mission is to protect the environment while also subsidizing rural students.

The 11th Grade Volunteer Club utilized innovative ways to introduce their club activities and comments by club members. The

MTC & ANIMUSIC Club merged to provide club members with a platform for conversations about ACG culture.

The Photography Club portrayed their various activities, both indoor and outdoor, and a small project on the differences between camera types.

Noontime training sessions enhanced the communication between members and the training of newcomers, engaging both students and teachers in the process.

The Teachers listened closely to the presentations and asked many relevant questions, including the success and expansion of the club, details of activities, and future plans. Focusing on SHSID Times, Ms. Liu asked Annie Fang how she was able to regulate and motivate her club members to perform their duties on time.

This year’s ‘Excellent Club’ presentations were a success, and we hope for more clubs next year to enter the selection process and use fascinating club activities to appeal teachers and color the extracurricular lives of SHSID’s students.
