Grades 9-10：First aid training

On Wednesday, Dec 6th, SHSID’s Grade 10 students took a rather unusual student-led course on first aid training. During the two weeks after their midterms exam, the volunteers were to become the tutors for the training attended three professional training sessions taught by the leaders of a CTB team who won first prize last year. The two period- course helped the students recognize the importance of the 4 minutes golden period after a person suffers a cardiac arrest as well as the dangers of not providing adequate first aid during that golden period. In the process, each student learnt how to conduct a multitude of first aid procedures, most importantly CPR and defibrillation. The students gained hands-on experience while learning these procedures in a lively, friendly learning environment. The students should not forget these procedures, as they are valuable skills that saves lives.
