6th Grade Career Day: A Visit to Gui Guan Food Factory

6(6) went to the Gui Guan Food Factory recently. That Thursday was this year’s special Career Day, where students enjoyed a day of observing various jobs and seeing how they work. This was a magnificent day for all students to experience what it’s like being in the workplace. The 6(6) teachers chose Ida’s father’s friend’s company as their destination.

6(6) boarded their bus at 12:20 and arrived at the factory on schedule. They were welcomed by a buffet of hot pot items and other food. They students enjoyed the feast a lot! Later, the boss of the factory came and displayed the history of how the factory came into being, and the goals of the company now. He also went through the challenges Gui Guan currently faces, and how all the staff tried to solve the problems.

After all the Powerpoints and videos, the students rested for a while. Then they had a competition in the workshop. The students tried to make glutinous rice balls which weighed exactly 10 grams. At the end of the competition there was a prize for the winner.

Overall, the students had fun and learned a lot from this Career Day.
